Embark on a 6-day tour package to explore the Imperial Cities of Morocco and experience the breathtaking Merzouga Desert. Visit Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, and Fez, and delve into the magical landscapes of Merzouga for an unforgettable adventure.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Casablanca
We’ll pick you up from your hotel, riad, or the airport around 8:30 am and depart from Marrakech towards Casablanca. Our first stop will be the Hasan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in Africa. Later, we’ll explore the Old Medina of Casablanca, including the souk and the corniche. Overnight stay in Casablanca.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Rabat, the current capital of Morocco, to visit the Royal Palace, Mausoleum of Mohamed V, and Kasbah Udayas. Next, we’ll explore Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis before reaching Fez for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Fez
Explore the oldest imperial city, Fez, visiting iconic sights such as the Merinid tombs, Mellah Jewish quarter, and the Museum of Weapons. Discover the chaotic Medina of Fez, filled with mosques, tanneries, and souks. Overnight stay in Fez.
Day 4: Fez – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
Drive through the cedar forests of Azrou towards the Ziz Valley, passing through Midelt and Erfoud. Experience a camel ride into the Merzouga Desert to witness the sunset. Overnight stay in a haima camp at Merzouga.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra and Dades Gorges
Watch the sunrise over the Merzouga Desert before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Visit Todra Gorges and picturesque Amazigh villages before heading to the Dades Valley for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Dades Gorge – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and travel through the Thousand Kasbah road to Skoura palm grove. Explore Ouarzazate, known for its film locations, before crossing the Atlas Mountains and returning to Marrakech by around 6:30 pm.
Accommodation:
Throughout the tour, accommodation will be provided in double rooms at selected hotels and campsites in Casablanca, Fez, Merzouga, and Dades Gorge.
Pickup & Drop-off:
The tour begins and ends in Marrakech, with flexible pickup and drop-off options from the airport, hotels, riads, or central points in the city.
Temporary Closures:
Please note that Meknes is closed for renovations, and the Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate is temporarily closed. However, exterior views are still accessible for photography.
